CCC | 2026 AB 1705 Learning Series Webinars and Virtual Event Series | Culturally Sustaining Pedagogy: Practical Tools for all Disciplines
Registration is now open for the collaborative AB 1705 Learning Series Webinars and Virtual Event Series, presented by the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office (Chancellor’s Office). This interactive, virtual workshop series is presented by community college English and math faculty sharing their experience in transforming their classroom through active learning strategies, growth mindset, culturally responsive pedagogy and developing and sustaining a faculty community of practice.
Culturally Sustaining Pedagogy: Practical Tools for all Disciplines will introduce practical ways to design lessons grounded in culturally sustaining pedagogy that build on students’ lived experiences, invite meaningful discussion, and support rigorous learning in any content area. Participants will engage in hands-on activities adaptable for all disciplines, including math, science, technology, and humanities. We will explore how key instructional moves can increase student engagement, deepen understanding, and honor the diverse identities and perspectives students bring to the classroom. Participants will leave with ready-to-use tools, strategies, and ideas they can apply immediately in their own classrooms.
