SUMMARY:CCC | Alternative Text Production Center
DESCRIPTION:For students with print-related disabilities to be able to fully participate in courses\, educational materials may need to be provided in an alternate text format\, such as braille or large print. However\, producing alternate formats can be time consuming\, expensive\, and require specific skills that are beyond the training of campus staff and faculty. \nThe Alternate Text Production Center (ATPC) is funded by the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office to provide free\, on-demand alternate media production services to assist colleges in meeting the needs of their students with print-related disabilities. \nIn this Accessibility Office Hours session\, Jeff Baugher\, ATPC Director\, will present a general overview of the Alternate Text Production Center. Topics will include current productions offered\, how to best use the center\, and what common pitfalls people run into in acquiring alternate media. \nPlease join us. The Accessibility Office Hours offer the opportunity to ask questions and share best practices regarding web\, document\, and assistive technology accessibility issues. Audience participation is welcome! \nThis session will not be recorded. Please join us via Zoom on Thursday\, April 14\, beginning at 1 p.m. Pacific. \nApril 14: Zoom Link to Accessibility Office Hours \nFor additional updates\, please visit: CCC | Accessibility Center Events Calendar \nNote: Users cannot register for this webinar through the Vision Resource Center. This webinar requires access/registration outside of the Vision Resource Center.
