DESCRIPTION:Classified professionals across the state are stepping up to help realize our long-sought goal of equity for students and for all employees within the California Community Colleges. Classified professionals are central to this mission. Working as collaborative partners and change agents across the state\, we continue to further this goal. DESCRIPTION:For students with print-related disabilities to be able to fully participate in courses\, educational materials may need to be provided in an alternate text format\, such as braille or large print. However\, producing alternate formats can be time consuming\, expensive\, and require specific skills that are beyond the training of campus staff and faculty. \nThe Alternate Text Production Center (ATPC) is funded by the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office to provide free\, on-demand alternate media production services to assist colleges in meeting the needs of their students with print-related disabilities. \nIn this Accessibility Office Hours session\, Jeff Baugher\, ATPC Director\, will present a general overview of the Alternate Text Production Center. DESCRIPTION:The California Community College Chancellor’s Office (CCCCO) is excited to offer faculty teaching transfer-level Math programs (STEM and SLAM pathways) online the opportunity to participate in the professional development micro-credential courses\, Creating an Inclusive and Supporting Online Learning Environment and Promoting Active Learning Online\, offered by the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE). \nACUE’s courses\, endorsed by the American Council on Education (ACE)\, address a comprehensive set of evidence-based teaching practices shown to promote student success. \nThe micro-credential course offerings include the following: \nPromoting Active Learning (Online) — In this course\, participants learn practices proven to more actively engage your students in learning and thinking critically. \nCreating an Inclusive and Supportive Online Learning Environment — In this course\, participants learn practices that enable instructors to create an optimal environment to support learning-including how to increase student engagement\, embrace diversity\, and help students persist in meeting academic challenges. \nTo register for these courses\, please complete the course registration form by May 13\, 2022. To learn more about ACUE\, please visit the ACUE website. \nThese courses begin on May 31\, 2022\, and will take approximately 7-8 weeks to complete. \nAdditionally\, interested participants can join an information session to learn more about these courses.
