SUMMARY:CCC | From 1 to 50: How Ventura College Scaled Faculty AI-Readiness Through Communities of Practice
DESCRIPTION:Note: Users cannot register for this webinar through the Vision Resource Center. This webinar requires access/registration outside of the Vision Resource Center. If you would like to track the time you spent attending any trainings from external providers\, please record your time using External Training and the time will be reflected on your Learning Transcript. \nThis webinar highlights a proven approach to scaling faculty AI-readiness. Participants will explore how Ventura College used a Chancellor’s Office-funded train-the-trainer model to transform one Community of Practice (CoP) participant into five facilitators\, who then guided 50 faculty members through their own AI-focused CoPs. Bring your professional development team and watch together to gain a concrete\, adaptable framework for your campus. By the end of the webinar\, participants will be able to: \n•Identify what a CoP is. \n •Describe a train-the-trainer model for scaling AI-focused professional development across a college campus. \n •Identify institutional conditions that enable broad faculty participation. \n •Discuss with colleagues on how to adapt the CoP model for your own campus context. \n •Reflect on the value of CoPs through faculty experiences in both facilitator and participant roles. \n Who Should Attend \nIndividuals involved in facilitating\, coordinating\, or administering professional development opportunities at their campus. \n Register here

SUMMARY:ASCCC-OERI | COOL4ED: The Good\, The Bad\, and the Ugly
DESCRIPTION:Note: Users cannot register for this webinar through the Vision Resource Center. This webinar requires access/registration outside of the Vision Resource Center. If you would like to track the time you spent attending any trainings from external providers\, please record your time using External Training and the time will be reflected on your Learning Transcript. \n As of April 15\, 2026\, over 110 submissions have been made to the COOL4Ed portal \, the legislatively required place to share new open educational resources (OER) funded by the Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) Degree Grant Program. An analysis of the initial submissions revealed the need for guidance related to how and what to submit to COOL4Ed\, as well as the necessity of a place for the sharing of non-OER ZTC resources. The analysis also uncovered new OER that fill previously unmet needs\, new ancillaries for commonly adopted OER\, and effective practices that need to be incorporated into future COOL4Ed guidance. Join us to explore the good\, the bad\, and the ugly\, discuss proposed guidance to address many of the issues\, and to ask your COOL4Ed questions. \nRegister for COOL4Ed
