SUMMARY:ASCCC | Faculty Role in the TOP to CIP Transition
DESCRIPTION:The California Community Colleges are transitioning from using Taxonomy of Programs (TOP) codes to Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) codes on programs and courses in our system. This transition has been years in the making\, and faculty have an important role in this transition because of the impacts on curriculum and curriculum processes. This webinar overviews the current TOP to CIP transition project\, the history of the TOP to CIP transition\, previous efforts to transition curriculum codes\, and the role of faculty in this work. The webinar will also discuss other curricular codes such as Standard Occupational Codes (SOC) and Student Accountability Model (SAM) Codes. Considerations for how Curriculum Committees might approach this work will also be provided. \nRegister here \nNote: Users cannot register for this webinar through the Vision Resource Center. This webinar requires access/registration outside of the Vision Resource Center. SUMMARY:CCC | Practical A.I. Tools for Inclusive Education: Designing Accessible Course Materials for Every Learner
DESCRIPTION:Note: Users cannot register for this webinar through the Vision Resource Center. This webinar requires access/registration outside of the Vision Resource Center. If you would like to track the time you spent attending any trainings from external providers\, please record your time using External Training and the time will be reflected on your Learning Transcript. \nAccessible course materials don’t require faculty to become accessibility experts — they require the right tools\, habits\, and prompting strategies. This session addresses the full lifecycle of course content: how to build accessibility in from the first draft\, and how to efficiently bring existing materials into compliance. \nParticipants will learn to use AI assistants to generate structured\, accessible course content from scratch — syllabi\, handouts\, Canvas module outlines\, and assignments — with WCAG 2.1 and Universal Design for Learning principles embedded from the start. They will also develop practical skills for evaluating and remediating existing documents using free tools already available in the platforms they use every day. \nThe session covers accessible structure for Word documents\, PowerPoint presentations\, PDFs\, and Canvas pages — including heading hierarchy\, alt text\, color contrast\, reading order\, and plain language. Participants leave with reusable prompts\, reference guides\, and checklists they can apply to every piece of course content they create going forward. \n Register here

SUMMARY:ASCCC-OERI | COOL4ED: The Good\, The Bad\, and the Ugly
DESCRIPTION:Note: Users cannot register for this webinar through the Vision Resource Center. This webinar requires access/registration outside of the Vision Resource Center. If you would like to track the time you spent attending any trainings from external providers\, please record your time using External Training and the time will be reflected on your Learning Transcript. \n As of April 15\, 2026\, over 110 submissions have been made to the COOL4Ed portal \, the legislatively required place to share new open educational resources (OER) funded by the Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) Degree Grant Program. An analysis of the initial submissions revealed the need for guidance related to how and what to submit to COOL4Ed\, as well as the necessity of a place for the sharing of non-OER ZTC resources. The analysis also uncovered new OER that fill previously unmet needs\, new ancillaries for commonly adopted OER\, and effective practices that need to be incorporated into future COOL4Ed guidance. Join us to explore the good\, the bad\, and the ugly\, discuss proposed guidance to address many of the issues\, and to ask your COOL4Ed questions. \nRegister for COOL4Ed
