The purpose of the dual enrollment program at East Los Angeles College (ELAC) is to provide opportunities to high school students who wish to enroll in courses that provide credits toward graduation equivalency as well as getting a head start in their attainment of a higher education degree. Students earn credit at the community college level that allow them to satisfy high school graduation requirements set by Los Angeles Unified School District. At the same time, students are provided educational experiences within a chosen career pathway. In addition, East Los Angeles College grants credit to students for courses that meet the standards set by the Board of Trustees as allowed under the State of California Education Code.
