The Annual Conference will be held from July 15 - 18th in Washington, D.C. NCCEP encourages GEAR UP sites and other organizations committed to advancing college readiness and success to submit proposal(s) to present. GEAR UP and partners will share effective programming, teachable moments, and best-practices with other college-access professionals.

The Annual Conference is a time to highlight and hear from GEAR UP grantees and partners whose effective and results-driven programming represents teachable moments and best-practices for attendees.
Thank you for your interest in the ACE Leadership Academy for Department Chairs. This 2-day workshop focuses on the chair, not only as a unit leader, but also as an academic leader in service to the institution and its mission. Academy participants will engage in case studies, table-top discussions, problem-solving exercises, role play exercises, and simulations on key leadership issues, department success, and contributing to the larger mission of the institution.
The 2-day workshop will focus on the following topics:

- Department Chair Leadership in an Institutional Governance Structure

- Critical Role of Chairs in Advancing the Academic Quality and Mission of the Institution

The Institutional Effectiveness Partnership Initiative (IEPI) is a collaborative effort to help advance the institutional effectiveness of California Community Colleges and, in the process, significantly reduce the number of accreditation sanctions and audit issues. Most importantly, IEPI will enhance the system’s ability to effectively serve students. An important focus of the grant is to draw on the exceptional expertise and innovation from within the system in advancing best practices and avoiding potential pitfalls.

The HR Leadership Academy offers a unique training experience for California community college human resource professionals. Designed to build on your existing skills and take your knowledge to the next level, this comprehensive program offers practical, hands-on, real world case studies and experience. Each learning module is designed to enhance your critical thinking skills, refine your judgment and decision making abilities and foster creativity and confidence to help you tackle the challenges of today and tomorrow. Participants will learn perspective, leadership and how to become an effective CHRO in California’s community colleges. A subcommittee of ACHRO/EEO, comprised of your respected colleagues, developed the curriculum for this program. The program offers 43 hours of training, with all course content presented by experienced, notable CHRO’s and attorneys.
